Camp Ta-Kum-Ta sits on 103 acres in South Hero, Vermont. This year-round camp provides extraordinary experiences for children who have or have had cancer, and the facility was in need of improved indoor air quality for their guests and staff who occupy these buildings during their time here.
After an assessment of the property and review of the current conditions, our design build team drafted plans for new ventilation systems and replacement of some outdated HVAC systems. Our team replaced a direct fired makeup air system with a commercial exhaust fan. We installed new ERV systems in the main lodge and the activity room, along with new exhaust fans to improve ventilation rates in the restrooms. We also installed UVC lights in the split HVAC systems and a ductless heat pump system in the commercial kitchen. While we were here, our IAQ technicians also cleaned the ducts in the main lodge of the camp.
