When Southern Vermont’s largest hospital needed to upgrade the infrastructure that feeds critical care areas, they relied on New England Air Systems to get the job done. To ensure the hospital stayed operational — with critical care areas having the HVAC needed to remain a safe environment — we developed a highly-detailed schedule with many phases and milestones.
The project consisted of custom Venmar AHUs that were assembled on site, a relocated chiller, and numerous pumps, fans and controls upgrades that allowed the hospital to operate as designed. Because of the complexities and added care required for working in an operating hospital, the owner chose for us to perform the work under a Time & Material not to exceed delivery method.
The project came in under budget and on schedule, and it performs as the engineer designed it. This project and its delivery method were so successful, Rutland Regional has returned to New England Air Systems year after year to build and maintain its mechanical and plumbing systems.
