The Vermont State Employees Credit Union (VSECU) provides a consumer friendly banking experience for the residents of Vermont; complete with a state of the art Tech Café, community room and bike racks out front. New England Air Systems is proud to have been a part of this venture as the Mechanical and Plumbing Contractor to Russel Construction Services.
VSECU Rutland holds the distinction of being the first LEED Gold rated banking institution in the State of Vermont. LEED or Leadership in Energy + Environmental Design, is an internationally recognized green building certification system.
Heating and cooling for this building is provided by a variable refrigerant volume (VRV) system via a remote air-cooled condenser and seven ducted terminal units. The control system connects all remote air terminals and the condenser to the main Automated Logic DDC network. Eight individually controlled temperature zones allow occupants to control their environment as they wish. The air-to-air heat recovery unit (HRU) provides general ventilation and building exhaust.
The low mass high efficiency condensing boiler system New England Air Systems installed provides domestic hot water and backup building heat should the VRV system have trouble keeping up with our Vermont Winter.
The project was a combination of technical expertise and craftsmanship resulting in the award of the 2012 AGC Best Builder in Specialty Construction Award for New England Air Systems.
