Nestled in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, Moosilauke Ravine Lodge is a premiere hiking destination for Dartmouth College’s Outing Club. The lodge is a large timber frame building that incorporates trees and boulders in their natural state as structural components to the building — yet staying in this building is anything but ‘roughing it’. Housing up to 80 occupants, it has a commercial kitchen, a large wood-fired stove, and a state-of-the-art HVAC system.
The building offered challenges due to its remote location and unique architectural design. Deliveries had to be closely coordinated, as its access road could not be navigated by large trucks, and cell phone coverage was lacking throughout the job site. Our teams brought innovative thinking to the job in order to overcome these obstacles and ensure a smooth installation process.
A Mitsubishi heat pump system provides occupants simultaneous heating and cooling, while a large wood-fired chimney and stove provide the amenities one would expect in a rustic lodge. The lodge offers spectacular views and great team bonding opportunities!
